Toulouse : Let’s fight back

In the night between 20th and 21st November 2020, a machine was set on fire in the Bouygues construction site, in the Montaudran district of Toulouse.

By investing in digital technology and new technologies to increase its control and exploitation of the world’s population, neoliberal capitalism has been reconfiguring itself in depth for years.

The coronavirus crises and the anxiety they generate have given it an opportunity which it was quick to grasp. They are allowing it to speed up this change: distance-learning, smart working, online shopping, telemedicine, virtual aperitifs and online sex; there is no longer a single aspect of life that escapes this attempt to digitize existence and make it profitable.
The Bouygues company [a giant French industrial group with interests in construction, the media and mobile phone networks] is no exception and participates with others in this unrestrained race. From 5G to smart cities, it is present on all fronts.

That’s why in the night between 20th and 21st November, a machine in a Bouygues construction site was set on fire in the Montaudran district, Toulouse.

Let’s fight back.
